11/15: Practice writing argumentative essays
Hi Students!
Today we will continue to develop the argumentative essays you have been working on. Please open the outline you have prepared for today's class and use it as needed during this writing workshop.
During your writing, I will help you with questions you have regard any part of the essay, following this suggested timeframe:
5:00-5:10: Greetings, set-up, Dropbox, etc.
5:10-5:20: Introduction
5:20-5:35: Opposing Argument 1 with refutation and evidence
5:35-5:50: Opposing Argument 2 with refutation and evidence
5:50-6:05: Opposing Argument 3 with refutation and evidence, if applicable
6:05-6:15: Conclusion
6:15-6:20: Wrap-up
As you can see, we will be on a tight schedule. I will literally be timing and asking you to stop and continue to next section as each phase reaches the time limit. If you have already started to develop the essay, please feel free to work on it in class.
Since we will not have time for peer review, we will be dedicating time for this on Nov. 27th.
Take advantage of class time!
Write!
Ask questions!
Thanks!
